The Atlantic Ocean in our home - how is it possible? On a track of water.

The authors of the project were divided into 6 groups, about 25 people together.

The whole project was organised under the careful guidance of our teachers. Its main aim was to learn about water: its origin, kinds, pollution, protection and saving. During the work we got to know some new programs useful in making presentations and posters, such as Prezi or Glogster. Every group was given numerous tasks, which helped us answer a lot of questions concerning water. We presented the results of our research and analysis in both paper and electronical form. We consulted our teachers quite often; they helped us and gave some advice when we met problems with filling the tasks.

Meanwhile we visited places, which taught us a lot about so important a substance. 31st January 2011 we went to a trip to a water intake in Białkowo and to sawage treatment plant in Golub-Dobzyń. We had an opportunity to learn about the process of water harvesting and its distribution as well as how much water is harvested and in what way it is filtered. In the mechanical-biological sewage treatment plant in Golub-Dobrzyń we learnt about technology and phases of sewage treatment. There we interviewed one of the employees, who told us in what way deposits are managed.

We also did some research on pH and the content of magnesium and calcium ions, nitrate (III), nitrate (V), phosphate (V) and ions of ammonium in the water of Drwęca, Ruziec, a lake, a pond, tap water and water from a well. The classes were conducted in a chemistry classroom.
22nd March 2011 we celebrated The Word Water Day in our school, on which we had an opportunity to present the results of our several-months-long work. There was a contest. The jury rated the presentations and posters of each group, there were also points for puns and our general knowledge about water.

Thanks to the project we have learnt a lot of new things. We found out precious information about water. Now we know how to save and protect water following a few simple rules in our everyday life and we are going to do that. Thanks to the project we also learnt and practiced group-work. It was worth doing.
