World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources
This year the World Water Day is devoted to remark the dramatic link between this resource and our health, between waste and incorrect use and our habits and alimentary uses. Water and alimentary security is the subject of a call that wants to remark one data full of urgency: one thousand million people are living in conditions of chronic hunger in our planet, while the water resources are threaten by the pressure of great works and wrong practices. Let’s see an example: 30% of the food produced in the planet are not consumed but thrown away. And an additional data that goes hand in hand with the previous one: To produce one kilo of meat, 15,000 liters of water are needed and to produce one kilo of wheat the need of water is 1,500 liters.
